As part of its growth, the show has extended in significant directions. A key highlight this year was the debut of the Disaster Prevention with Pets Zone, where the special programme Protecting Our Families – Evacuating Together offered pet owners hands-on experience in emergency evacuation scenarios. Participants navigated a simulated collapsed road with their pets, with the initiative drawing strong visitor interest and extensive media coverage, reinforcing the importance of crisis preparedness. The show also featured business forums, trend-focused presentations, interactive workshops, and grooming competitions, enriching the visitor experience and providing valuable industry insights.
Exhibitor comments
“Our debut at Interpets last year led to new industry connections, including valuable discussions with COMBI CORPORATION. This collaboration has since evolved into a joint development project, and one year later, we successfully unveiled our latest co-developed products at the show. The event has opened doors not just in retail, but across multiple industries, proving its value as a dynamic networking hub.”
Mr Masato Matsushita, Deputy General Manager, SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD.
“Our goal was to introduce disaster mobility containers to a wider audience. Interpets connected us with several companies that have ties to local governments and municipalities, paving the way for potential collaborations. The high level of media interest – three television networks reached out for interviews – demonstrated the growing awareness of pet disaster preparedness.”
Mr Kouta Nakagomi, General Manager, Nakagomikensetsu Co., Ltd.
“The exhibition provided us with direct access to key players in the pet industry, from major wholesalers to retailers and pet shop operators. For the first time, we also gathered valuable feedback from end-users, which will inform our future product development. Our online sales saw an immediate boost, and the positive response led us to confirm our participation in Interpets Osaka.”
Mr Yuta Kobayashi, Country Manager, WooBia Japan Co., Ltd.
Looking ahead: Interpets Tokyo 2026
The show’s next edition will mark a significant milestone as it officially changes its name to Interpets Tokyo. Taking place from 2 – 5 April 2026, the event will also undergo a layout adjustment due to large-scale renovation works at Tokyo Big Sight. To optimise the business environment, the first day will be exclusively dedicated to trade professionals, with pet accompaniment and direct consumer sales restricted. This refined format aims to enhance business networking and industry engagement. As Interpets Tokyo embarks on this new chapter, it remains dedicated to fostering connections, showcasing innovations, and contributing to the continued growth of the global pet industry.
